Kien Giang's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Dan FC the free kick. The supporters of Dan FC booed when Kien Giang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Hung didn't get a good kick on the ball. A hard shot 7 in the game by Liễu Hoa from a close distance when the talented Lê Phuc managed to make a qualified save. Dan FC's players were relieved. Liễu Hoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Lê Phuc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Liễu Hoa scored 1-0 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lê Phuc, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Liễu Hoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Lê Phuc tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lê Phuc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nguyễn Chuong, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. 22 minutes into the game, Hoàng Pham was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liễu Hoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Lê Phuc having to interfere. Lê Phuc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Chuong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lê Phuc stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Liễu Hoa's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Dan FC's Lê Phuc proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 39th minute of the match, managed to save Dan FC from getting a goal against them. A collision led to Kien Giang getting a freekick after 42 minutes play. Nguyễn Tuan hit a great ball. In the 43rd match minute, Dan FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bùi Mai to maneuver through the defense. If Nguyễn Chuong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Nguyễn Chuong was the one to do the kick off. Lê Phuc made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Chuong in the 52nd minute of play. Nguyễn Chuong recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Trần Diem's late challenge caught a Kien Giang's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Trần Diem helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Dan FC's Trần Diem got a free kick in the 54th minute. Nguyễn Chuong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 55th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Liễu Hoa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. A collision led to Dan FC getting a freekick after 63 minutes play. Ngô Lan hit a great ball. The audience was convinced that Nguyễn Chuong's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Lê Phuc was relentless in the 64th minute of the game. In the 66th minute, Phùng Chung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dan FC's Lê Phuc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Chuong in the 68th minute of play. Lê Phuc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Chuong in the 72nd minute of the match. After having played for 73 minutes, Ngô Lan managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Dan FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ngô Lan was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 78th minute Liễu Hoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Phuc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phùng Chung got his second yellow card in the match during the 80th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. In the 80th match minute, Kien Giang was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phùng Chung to maneuver through the defense. In the 85th minute Liễu Hoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Phuc saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hoàng Pham recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 87th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 89 minutes into the match, Dan FC's goal looked a bit too open when Liễu Hoa came free, but Lê Phuc reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Trần Diem was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 93 minutes had been played. Kien Giang's Nguyễn Chuong got a good chance for a goal in the 97th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kien Giang walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
