Spectators: 7558 (Terracing: 5600, Seating: 1948, VIP seats: 10) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Trần Bay got the match started through his kick off. 8 minutes into the match, Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Cuc came free, but Lê Hoai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Lê Hoai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Anh Hung in the 9th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Nguyễn Tuan Hoang got a free kick in the 10th minute. The referee gave PhuTho a penalty, 14 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Lê Ho, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Lê Hoai. 1-1. 17 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Cuc notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Lê Hoai. Lê Hoai was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Lê Ho's late challenge caught a Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lê Ho helped the player get up and apologised. In the 20th match minute, PhuTho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Ho to maneuver through the defense. Phan Lam hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. 23 minutes into the match, Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's goal looked a bit too open when Lê Anh Hung came free, but Lê Hoai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 25 minutes in the game Nguyễn Tuan Hoang did a throw-in, and the ball was quickly in game thanks to Nguyễn Quang Thanh. Lê Hoai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nguyễn Cuc in the 28th minute of the match. The supporters of PhuTho booed when Ba Ria Vung Tau FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vũ Ho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lê Hoai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Cuc in the 35th minute of play. Nguyễn Quang Thanh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 37th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 39 minutes into the match, PhuTho's goal looked a bit too open when Vũ Ho came free, but Dương Lan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Nguyễn Quang Thanh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Phạm Thai charged in rather forcefully in the 41st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Phạm Thai the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 41st match minute, PhuTho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phạm Thai to maneuver through the defense. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Vũ Ho made a kick off. Dương Lan showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Vũ Ho in the 52nd minute of the match. In the 54th minute Trần Bay shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Hoai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Lê Hoai proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 58th minute of the match, managed to save Ba Ria Vung Tau FC from getting a goal against them. 65 minutes into the match, Trần Bay dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Lê Hoai, 1-4. 70 minutes into the match, PhuTho's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Quang Thanh came free, but Dương Lan reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 71 played minutes PhuTho got a freekick which was hit by Lê Ho. A collision led to PhuTho getting a freekick after 73 minutes play. Phạm Thai hit a great ball. Vũ Ho's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dương Lan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. Lê Hoai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Trần Bay, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match had gone on for 83 minutes, Lê Anh Hung took a quick shot and it went in 1-5 without a chance for Lê Hoai to make any attempt to save it. Nguyễn Cuc could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Lê Hoai made a huge save. A collision led to Ba Ria Vung Tau FC getting a freekick after 87 minutes play. Chung Lan hit a great ball. In the 89th minute, Lê Ho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. PhuTho's Dương Lan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vũ Ho in the 91st minute of play. After a defensive mix-up in PhuTho's zone, Nguyễn Quang Thanh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dương Lan came out of the goal and Nguyễn Quang Thanh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a little luck, Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Lê Hoai got control of the ball when Nguyễn Cuc tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 95th minute, Trần Bay reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Lê Hoai. The goal made the score 1-6. When the final whistle sounded PhuTho left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Ba Ria Vung Tau FC.
