After 3 played minutes United Fandom FC got a freekick which was hit by Chung Hieu Ngan. The supporters of PhuTho booed when United Fandom FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phan Hoa didn't get a good kick on the ball. PhuTho's Trần Bay got a good chance for a goal in the 9th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 10 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Chi was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. United Fandom FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave PhuTho the free kick. A collision led to United Fandom FC getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Nguyễn Chi hit a great ball. Trần Bay scored 0-1 in the 16th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Phạm Tran, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Nguyễn Tuan Hoang succeeded to score despite a near miss that spronge from right pole into the goal to 1-2 in the 27th playminute. Nguyễn Phong's late challenge caught a United Fandom FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Phong helped the player get up and apologised. After 32 played minutes PhuTho got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Phong. In the 37th minute, Chung Hieu Ngan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phạm Tran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Bay in the 40th minute of play. In the 42nd minute, Nguyễn Tuan Hoang got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 44 played minutes PhuTho got a freekick which was hit by Lê Anh Hung. With a little luck, PhuTho's Dương Lan got control of the ball when Nguyễn Tuan Hoang tried to sneak it across the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Chung Hieu Ngan stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 51st minute Nguyễn Tuan Hoang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dương Lan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phạm Tran made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Anh Hung in the 55th minute of play. Phạm Tran made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Cuc in the 66th minute. 69 minutes into the match, United Fandom FC's goalkeeper Phạm Tran had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lê Anh Hung. If Nguyễn Tuan Hoang had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 70th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 74 played minutes PhuTho got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Hoai. 77 minutes into the match, Nguyễn Cuc notched a goal, 1-3, to the right of United Fandom FC's Phạm Tran. Phạm Tran was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. An unexpectedly hard shot by Chung Hieu Ngan in the 82nd minute of play forced PhuTho's goalkeeper Dương Lan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trần Bay received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Phạm Tran came out and tried to block the shot, but Trần Bay slotted it home off the left post making it 1-4 in the 84th minute. In the 89th minute Chung Hieu Ngan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dương Lan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match was over PhuTho could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than United Fandom FC throughout the match.
