Lê Hoai didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Liễu Hoa went, in the 4th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Lê Hoai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Chuong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Nguyễn Chuong came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Kien Giang fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Chuong couldn't finish the play. Nguyễn Quang Thanh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 12th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Vũ Ho was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 16th play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. 18 minutes into the game, Kien Giang's Nguyễn Chuong nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Lê Hoai made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-2. A collision led to Ba Ria Vung Tau FC getting a freekick after 21 minutes play. Huỳnh Duc hit a great ball. In the 27th minute Liễu Hoa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Hoai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vũ Ho struck a weak shot in the 33rd minute. Trần Dong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ba Ria Vung Tau FC. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Nguyễn Quang Thanh got a good chance for a goal in the 35th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 36th minute Vũ Ho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Dong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 39 minutes into the match, Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's goal looked a bit too open when Hoàng Pham came free, but Lê Hoai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phùng Chung hit a great ball. 42 minutes into the match, Liễu Hoa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lê Hoai. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Liễu Hoa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-4. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Lê Hoai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liễu Hoa in the 46th minute of play. Vũ Ho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 47th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-4.

The wind increased when Vũ Ho made the kick off in the second half. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Vũ Ho got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Lê Hoai made a fantastic save in the 54th minute, when Phùng Chung sent off a good shot on target. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 55th minute, when Liễu Hoa scored to the left of an out of position Lê Hoai, making the score, 1-5. Trần Dong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vũ Ho in the 59th minute of play. Nguyễn Quang Thanh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Trần Dong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Lê Hoai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hoàng Pham in the 63rd minute of the match. In the 65th minute, Liễu Hoa got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hoàng Pham in the 67th minute of play forced Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's goalkeeper Lê Hoai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Lê Hoai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hoàng Pham, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Liễu Hoa could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 71st minute of the match, but Lê Hoai made a huge save. Phùng Chung in the 73rdth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Lê Hoai, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Ba Ria Vung Tau FC's Lê Hoai proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 74th minute of the match, managed to save Ba Ria Vung Tau FC from getting a goal against them. In the 76th minute, Kien Giang's Liễu Hoa ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Lê Hoai. Lê Hoai yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 1-6. Nguyễn Tuan Hoang hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. In the 81st minute Nguyễn Chuong shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Hoai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lê Hoai made an important save on a dangerous shot by Liễu Hoa in the 83rd minute. Lê Hoai made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Bùi Chuong sent off a good shot on target. In the 87th minute Phùng Chung shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Lê Hoai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Liễu Hoa blasted a shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Lê Hoai having to make a save. In the 93rd minute, Phùng Chung hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lê Hoai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hoàng Pham in the 95th minute of the match. Kien Giang's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
