Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Nguyễn Hieu Ngan started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Văn Hoang's late challenge caught a Cam Pha Port's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Văn Hoang helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Cam Pha Port booed when Kien Giang was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 6 match minutes in a wonderful position. Văn Hoang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trần Dong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Nguyễn Hieu Ngan in the 9th minute of play. When Phạm Pham came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the Cam Pha Port fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Phạm Pham couldn't finish the play. In the 12thth minute of the game Nguyễn Hieu Ngan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Kien Giang's Trần Dong was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Mai Tuan Hoang hit a great freekick 13 minutes into the match. Nguyễn Hanh was in exellent shape and made a fantastic save when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to get hold of the ball after a long shot from Văn Hoang. The audience thought a goal was coming when Liễu Hoa got free with Nguyễn Hanh in the 17th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After 18 minutes, Phạm Tu mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cam Pha Port and the Kien Giang players grew even worse after the yellow card. The crowd rose to their feet as Kien Giang's Hoàng Pham slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Nguyễn Hanh. That made the score 1-0 after 20 minutes of play. After a rather tough play, Kien Giang's Hoàng Pham got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 27th minute Phan Hoang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Trần Dong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Liễu Hoa got free with Nguyễn Hanh in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 40 minutes into the game, Liễu Hoa recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Nguyễn Hanh. Liễu Hoa showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 2-0. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Liễu Hoa to make the kick off. Liễu Hoa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 57th minute. Nguyễn Hanh tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 64th match minute, Kien Giang was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Chuong to maneuver through the defense. Liễu Hoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Phùng Chung in the 67th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Nguyễn Hanh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a rather tough play, Cam Pha Port's Phạm Tu got a free kick in the 71st minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Liễu Hoa in the 74th minute a chance for a shot on goal. Liễu Hoa might have been able to make a better finish in the 76th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nguyễn Hanh. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Liễu Hoa ran back to his position shaking his head. Nguyễn Hieu Ngan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 79th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Hanh showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Liễu Hoa in the 80th minute of the match. When Phùng Chung, who was free, got the in front of the goal in the 82 minute he wasn't focused and tipped the ball just over the goal. The Nguyễn Hanh was delighted since the ball would have got in if it had gone under the crossbar. Liễu Hoa struck a weak shot in the 84th minute. Nguyễn Hanh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Kien Giang. Liễu Hoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 86th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Phan Hoang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 90th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Trần Dong having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Kien Giang's Nguyễn Chuong got a free kick in the 96th minute. Kien Giang walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
