Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Nguyễn Chuong kicked off to start the match. 3 minutes into the match, Timoteo Dimas notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Vinah Long's Nguyễn Bien. Nguyễn Bien was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Vinah Long's Huỳnh Loc managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Nguyễn Van Tai Em in the 9 minute of the game. Lê Tuan Hoang came free with the goalkeeper in the 14th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Đoàn Mai could save by the left post. Huỳnh Loc lost his temper 21 minutes into the game and shoved another player to the ground. He was immediately shown a red card. In the 20th minute, one of Vinah Long:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Vinah Long. The referee gave Cao Bang Red Star a penalty, 22 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Hoàng Phuoc, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Vinah Long's Nguyễn Bien. 0-2. After some careless play in the Vinah Long defense, Tomás Sá kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nguyễn Bien. The Vinah Long fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nguyễn Bien should have stopped the shot. In the 31st minute Tomás Sá shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Bien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Bien showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomás Sá, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. Lê Tuan Hoang fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Đoàn Mai having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Cao Bang Red Star's Liễu Phu got a free kick in the 37th minute. After 40 played minutes Vinah Long got a freekick which was hit by Trần Tinh. In the 41st minute, Timoteo Dimas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 43rd minute, Huỳnh Chung reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Đoàn Mai. The goal made the score 1-3. After some careless play in the Vinah Long defense, Timoteo Dimas kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nguyễn Bien. The Vinah Long fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nguyễn Bien should have stopped the shot. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-4 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomás Sá was the one to do the kick off. Tomás Sá did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-5 to the left of a surprised Nguyễn Bien 52 minutes into the match. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Nguyễn Ho during the 55th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 56th match minute, Vinah Long was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Ho to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Bien was out of position in the 56 minute of play, and Tomás Sá capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Tomás Sá really showed his touch with that goal: 1-6. Tomás Sá struck a weak shot in the 62nd minute. Nguyễn Bien didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cao Bang Red Star. Huỳnh Chung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Đoàn Mai didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Lê Tuan Hoang went, in the 65th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-6 was the resulting score. 67 minutes into the game, Phạm Nam was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Vinah Long's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cao Bang Red Star the free kick. Phạm Nam hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. The supporters of Vinah Long booed when Cao Bang Red Star was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lê Dinh didn't get a good kick on the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Nguyễn Van Tai Em got free with Nguyễn Bien in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 83rd minute Timoteo Dimas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Bien saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Nguyễn Ho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Huỳnh Chung recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 88th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Nguyễn Bien made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Hoàng Phuoc in the 93rd minute of play. Cao Bang Red Star's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
