Đặng Hieu Ngan scored 2-0 in the 29th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Lê Cuc, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. A wasted opportunity for Lao Cai 24. 39 minutes into the game, Lê Cadeo recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Lê Cuc. Lê Cadeo showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 4-0. 44 minutes into the match, Lao Cai 24's goalkeeper Lê Cuc had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Nguyễn Duc. Af the end of the first half the score was 4-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

An unexpectedly hard shot by Phạm Lan in the 53rd minute of play forced Hà Nội's goalkeeper Trần Ritchell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Trần Ritchell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Phạm Lan, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. 80 minutes into the match, Lê Van Tai Em had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Lê Cuc. Lao Cai 24's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lê Van Tai Em was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-2. Lao Cai 24's Lê Cuc played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lê Cadeo in the 85th minute of play. After 93 played minutes Hà Nội got a freekick which was hit by Đặng Hieu Ngan. Dương Nam could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 94th minute of the match, but Trần Ritchell made a huge save. 97 minutes into the match, Đặng Hieu Ngan notched a goal, 7-2, to the right of Lao Cai 24's Lê Cuc. Lê Cuc was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The Hà Nội players were eager to celebrate when the final whistle sounded. They had somehow managed to win, even though the away team had held the majority of the possession.
