Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Trần Tấn Dũng started the match with the kick off. When the match had gone on for 2 minutes, Trần Thanh put it in 1-0 from a short distance just to the right of Huỳnh Diem. The attack was good, but when Nguyễn Tran in the 7th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. In the 8th minute, Đoàn Ritchell hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Trần Thanh kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. Trần Tấn Dũng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Liễu Tuyet having to interfere. In the 12thth minute of the game Đoàn Ritchell who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lao Baoa's Liễu Tuyet was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 17 minutes into the game, Chung Hung was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Viet Tri's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Lao Baoa the free kick. Lao Baoa's Trần Thanh got a good chance for a goal in the 18th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Vũ Huy hit a great freekick 19 minutes into the match. Viet Tri's Huỳnh Diem proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 24th minute of the match, managed to save Viet Tri from getting a goal against them. Lê Binh recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 25th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Vũ Duy got free with Huỳnh Diem in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Lao Baoa booed when Viet Tri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 30 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vũ Huy didn't get a good kick on the ball. Trần Thanh's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Huỳnh Diem read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 31st minute of play. Huỳnh Diem stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Trần Thanh's shot from short distance in the 33rd minute. After 34 played minutes Viet Tri got a freekick which was hit by Vũ Huy. Viet Tri's Huỳnh Diem proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 37th minute of the match, managed to save Viet Tri from getting a goal against them. Huỳnh Diem didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Lao Baoa's Lê Binh shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 2-0 in the ordered_time% minute. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The wind increased when Trần Thanh made the kick off in the second half. The audience was convinced that Trần Thanh's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Huỳnh Diem was relentless in the 53rd minute of the game. In the 56th minute Nguyễn Tran shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Huỳnh Diem saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Trần Thanh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Mai received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Huỳnh Diem tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Huỳnh Diem made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Thanh in the 62nd minute of play. After 65 played minutes Viet Tri got a freekick which was hit by Đoàn Ritchell. 68 minutes into the game, Lao Baoa's Trần Thanh nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Huỳnh Diem made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-0. Nguyễn Thanh received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Liễu Tuyet tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Viet Tri booed when Lao Baoa was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 74 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vũ Duy didn't get a good kick on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Vũ Huy during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Viet Tri getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Vũ Huy hit a great ball. Võ Thuyet hit a great freekick 86 minutes into the match. After a defensive mix-up in Viet Tri's zone, Lê Thuy stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Huỳnh Diem came out of the goal and Lê Thuy tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Tran in the 89th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Huỳnh Diem saved Viet Tri from getting behind. In the 98th minute, Nguyễn Tran left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lao Baoa fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 5-0. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Lao Baoa fully deserved thier win.
