When the match had gone on for 23 minutes, Nguyễn Lam put it in 2-2 from a short distance just to the right of Huỳnh Nam. Nguyễn Lam fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Huỳnh Nam having to interfere. In the 39th minute of the match, Huỳnh Tuan tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Lê Cuc saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. When the match had gone on for 40 minutes, Phùng Bay took a quick shot and it went in 3-2 without a chance for Lê Cuc to make any attempt to save it. When Nguyễn Thanh Bình came up free with the goalie in the 46th minute, the công an hà nội fans jumped to their feet. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Phùng Bay to make the kick off. The supporters of Lao Cai 24 booed when công an hà nội was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Ritchell didn't get a good kick on the ball. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Huỳnh Nam stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dương Nam's shot from short distance in the 71st minute. Lê Cuc stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Thanh Bình's shot from short distance in the 74th minute. In the 77th minute, Dương Nam got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Phan Ritchell might have been able to make a better finish in the 78th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Huỳnh Nam. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Phan Ritchell ran back to his position shaking his head. Nguyễn Thanh Bình sent away a hard shot on goal in the 80th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. If Nguyễn Thanh Bình had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to công an hà nội getting a freekick after 89 minutes play. Huỳnh Hieu hit a great ball. With his leg Huỳnh Nam managed to avoid a goal in the 90thth minute, when Lao Cai 24's Nguyễn Lam fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Lê Cuc took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nguyễn Thanh Bình, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 97th minute, Phạm Lan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lao Cai 24's supporters rose to their feet, but Phạm Lan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Huỳnh Nam breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Through an outstanding action, after 99 minutes, Huỳnh Nam successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post.
