Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The supporters of Lao Cai booed when REAL MARIAD was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 3 match minutes in a wonderful position. Phan Lam didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 7th match minute, Lao Cai was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Nguyễn Tu to maneuver through the defense. Nguyễn Thi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lê Anh Hung, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Đào Chuong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mai Phong, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Lê Anh Hung might have been able to make a better finish in the 15th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nguyễn Thi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Lê Anh Hung ran back to his position shaking his head. Nguyễn Thi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lê Anh Hung in the 17th minute of play. In the 29th minute Lê Anh Hung shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Thi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 33rd minute, Mai Phong got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Lý Minh-ha blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Đào Chuong having to make a save. Through an outstanding action, after 38 minutes, Đào Chuong successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After some fancy dribbling in the 39th minute, Nguyễn Thuy managed to get in a good position for a shot. REAL MARIAD's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Thuy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Thi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 42nd minute, Trần Hanh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lao Cai's Nguyễn Thi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nguyễn Thuy in the 43rd minute of play. When Phạm Minh fell near the penalty area in the 44th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored REAL MARIAD's protests and gave Phạm Minh a yellow card for diving instead. In the 44th minute, Phạm Minh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Đặng Minh Phượng fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored REAL MARIAD's protests and gave Đặng Minh Phượng a yellow card for diving instead. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Nguyễn Tu's late challenge caught a REAL MARIAD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Tu helped the player get up and apologised. Nguyễn Tu hit a great freekick 59 minutes into the match. In the 63rd minute Nguyễn Tu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Đào Chuong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Đào Chuong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lý Minh-ha in the 64th minute of the match. Nguyễn Tu received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Đào Chuong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. REAL MARIAD's Lê Anh Hung got a good chance for a goal in the 73rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. A collision led to Lao Cai getting a freekick after 85 minutes play. Chung Hoang hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lê Anh Hung in the 86th minute of play forced Lao Cai's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Đào Chuong came out of the goal in the 92nd minute to try and stop a shot by Lao Cai's Lý Minh-ha. But to his dismay, Lý Minh-ha quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. REAL MARIAD were awarded a corner in the 100th minute after Lao Cai's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Huỳnh Cadeo took the corner. After taking down the ball on REAL MARIAD's corner Huỳnh Cadeo fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nguyễn Thi quite easily take care of the ball. The REAL MARIAD players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Lao Cai from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
