Spectators: 7807 (Terracing: 5500, Seating: 2124, VIP seats: 183) In the 6th minute Đoàn Tinh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Huỳnh Minh-ha saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Đoàn Tinh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Đoàn Tinh had several of the Tay Ninh's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 8 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Huỳnh Minh-ha as he didn't even see the shot coming. In the 14th minute, Nguyễn Dung left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Tay Ninh fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. Huỳnh Minh-ha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Đoàn Tinh's shot from short distance in the 17th minute. In the 18th minute, Phạm Huynh Duc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lý Nguyet blasted a shot towards the goal in the 19th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Huỳnh Minh-ha having to make a save. Lê Nghiêm-Minh charged in rather forcefully in the 20th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Lê Nghiêm-Minh the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. If Đoàn Tinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Huỳnh Minh-ha showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Đoàn Tinh, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute Phạm Nam shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phan Duong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Đoàn Tinh in the 27th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Huỳnh Minh-ha saved Tay Ninh from getting behind. In the 32nd minute, Phạm Nam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 38 minutes into the match, Lao Bao's goal looked a bit too open when Phan Hong came free, but Phan Duong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 43rd minute, Đoàn Tinh left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lao Bao fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 2-2 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Đoàn Tinh stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Tay Ninh defense, Nguyễn Huy kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Huỳnh Minh-ha. The Tay Ninh fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Huỳnh Minh-ha should have stopped the shot. The supporters of Tay Ninh booed when Lao Bao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lý Nguyet didn't get a good kick on the ball. The throw-in from Trần Liem in the 60th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Lao Bao's Phan Loc. Huỳnh Minh-ha came out of the goal in the 61st minute to try and stop a shot by Lao Bao's Đoàn Tinh. But to his dismay, Đoàn Tinh quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-2. Phan Duong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Phạm Nam in the 66th minute. Đoàn Tinh scored 5-2 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Huỳnh Minh-ha, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. When the match had gone on for 73 minutes, Phan Hong put it in 5-3 from a short distance just to the right of Phan Duong. Đoàn Tinh took the ball and in the 76 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Huỳnh Minh-ha. Huỳnh Minh-ha dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 6-3. Phạm Huynh Duc kicked well hit freekick during the 79th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 80th minute, Lý Nguyet managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lao Bao's supporters rose to their feet, but Lý Nguyet was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Huỳnh Minh-ha breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Nguyễn Huy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Huỳnh Minh-ha having to interfere. When Đoàn Tinh came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Lao Bao fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Đoàn Tinh couldn't finish the play. Huỳnh Minh-ha didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Đoàn Tinh went, in the 89th minute, to the upper right corner, 7-3 was the resulting score.
