Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nguyễn Thuy in the 30th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Phan Binh prevented the ball from getting in the gole. REAL MARIAD's defense didn't have a chance, in the 31st minute, when Phan Cong Vinh scored to the left of an out of position Đào Chuong, making the score, 2-0. In the 36th minute, Huỳnh Cadeo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Đào Chuong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Phan Cong Vinh, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Đoàn Tu fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Đào Chuong having to interfere. The supporters of REAL MARIAD booed when Thai Ngudyen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Hanh didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in REAL MARIAD's zone, Phan Cong Vinh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Đào Chuong came out of the goal and Phan Cong Vinh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Đào Chuong stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Nguyễn Liem's shot from short distance in the 61st minute. In the 74th minute Đoàn Tu shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Đào Chuong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
