Lao Cai's Nguyễn Thi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Freddie Petersson in the 4th minute of play. Phan Hung sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Nguyễn Tran's late challenge caught a 08ornas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. In the 19th minute the ball was on its way in behind Lao Cai's goalkeeper Nguyễn Thi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Freddie Petersson received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 20th minute. Nguyễn Thi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Trần Thanh hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. Freddie Petersson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Thi having to interfere. When the final whistle sounded 08ornas FC left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Lao Cai.
