In the 22nd minute, Phan Hoa made a precise shot to the right of Nguyễn Thi. Lao Cai's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Phan Hoa might have been able to make a better finish in the 25th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Nguyễn Thi. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Phan Hoa ran back to his position shaking his head. Tạ Duc showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lý Minh-ha, who was totally free with the ball in the 32nd minute. Nguyễn Thi was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Phan Hoa showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 5-0 in the 35 minute of play. When the match clock showed 38 minutes, the score became 6-0 when Phan Hoa sped through Lao Cai's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Nguyễn Thi. The supporters of Thai Binh booed when Lao Cai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 42 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chung Hoang didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ngô Hong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Nguyễn Thi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Nguyễn Thi made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Phan Hoa in the 69th minute of play. Phan Hoa took the ball and in the 71 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Nguyễn Thi. Nguyễn Thi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 8-0. If Phan Hoa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 75th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 77thth minute of the game Ngô Hong who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lao Cai's Nguyễn Thi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Phan Hoa sent away a hard shot on goal in the 79th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 81 minutes into the game, Nguyễn Phuong threw the ball into play from the sideline. Thai Binh's Bùi Tuan quickly snatched the ball and retained possesion. In the 86th minute, Nguyễn Tinh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Thai Binh's Phan Hoa in the 88th minute got a chance for a shot 88th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
