Seating: 2125, VIP seats: 184) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Nguyễn Liem started the match with the kick off. Võ Hoa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 8th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phan Duong having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Thai Ngudyen's Đoàn Tu got a free kick in the 10th minute. In the 17th minute Nguyễn Liem shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Phan Duong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 19th minute, Đoàn Tinh got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Đoàn Tinh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 20th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 26 minutes into the game, Võ Thien was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Lao Bao's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Thai Ngudyen the free kick. After a rather tough play, Lao Bao's Võ Thien got a free kick in the 26th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Lao Bao's zone, Nguyễn Liem stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phan Duong came out of the goal and Nguyễn Liem tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 31st minute, Võ Hoa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Nguyễn Liem came up free with the goalie in the 34th minute, the Thai Ngudyen fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Liem couldn't finish the play. Lao Bao's Đoàn Tinh suffered a concussion in the 38th minute, after a hard challenge, and had to leave the field. Đỗ Phong charged in rather forcefully in the 39th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Đỗ Phong the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Đỗ Phong kicked well hit freekick during the 40th minute of the match. The supporters of Thai Ngudyen booed when Lao Bao was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Huy didn't get a good kick on the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.
The wind increased when Dương Hong made the kick off in the second half. Thai Ngudyen's Phan Binh played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dương Hong in the 55th minute of play. After some careless play in the Thai Ngudyen defense, Dương Hong kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Phan Binh. The Thai Ngudyen fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Phan Binh should have stopped the shot. Nguyễn Liem who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 68thth minute tested the skills of Phan Duong when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Dương Hong struck a weak shot in the 71st minute. Phan Binh didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lao Bao. After a rather tough play, Thai Ngudyen's Đoàn Tu got a free kick in the 73rd minute. In the 86th match minute, Thai Ngudyen was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lê Huy to maneuver through the defense. Trần Huỳnh fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Phan Duong having to interfere. If Phan Cong Vinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Lao Bao fans cheered their team off the field, for while Thai Ngudyen had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
