Seating: 2114, VIP seats: 183) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Đoàn Tinh started the match with the kick off. In the 7th minute, Nguyễn Binh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 8thth minute of the game Đoàn Tinh who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Lao Cai's Nguyễn Thi was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Phan Duong made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Trần Hanh in the 10th minute of play. If Đoàn Tinh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mai Phong in the 15th minute of play forced Lao Bao's goalkeeper Phan Duong to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Nguyễn Tran kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In a very dangerous position, a player in Lao Cai fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 22nd minute. Penalty! Nguyễn Thi went to the wrong direction when Lý Nguyet was taking care of the penalty kick which however missed the goal. Nguyễn Huy fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nguyễn Thi having to interfere. Nguyễn Phuong charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Phuong the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The supporters of Lao Bao booed when Lao Cai was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nguyễn Phuong didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 28th minute Đoàn Tinh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Thi saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Phan Loc hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. After 34 played minutes, Lao Cai's Nguyễn Binh shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Phan Duong came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Lao Cai reached it. When Nguyễn Huy fell near the penalty area in the 34th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Lao Bao's protests and gave Nguyễn Huy a yellow card for diving instead. After 35 played minutes Lao Bao got a freekick which was hit by Nguyễn Huy. Phan Duong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lý Minh-ha in the 39th minute of the match. Nguyễn Thien hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 45 minutes into the match, Lao Bao's goal looked a bit too open when Lý Minh-ha came free, but Phan Duong reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Nguyễn Thien charged in rather forcefully in the 46th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nguyễn Thien the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nguyễn Thien kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Lao Bao's zone, Nguyễn Binh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Phan Duong came out of the goal and Nguyễn Binh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Phan Duong made an important save on a dangerous shot by Nguyễn Tu in the 53rd minute. A collision led to Lao Bao getting a freekick after 54 minutes play. Nguyễn Thien hit a great ball. Nguyễn Tu scored 1-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Phan Duong, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lý Minh-ha kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Nguyễn Phuong made in the 68th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Trần Hanh. Lý Minh-ha struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Phan Duong didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lao Cai. Phan Duong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mai Phong in the 72nd minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 76th minute, Nguyễn Huy managed to get in a good position for a shot. Lao Bao's supporters rose to their feet, but Nguyễn Huy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Nguyễn Thi breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. With a little luck, Lao Bao's Phan Duong got control of the ball when Lý Minh-ha tried to sneak it across the goal line. Nguyễn Thi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Đoàn Tinh in the 81st minute of the match. Lao Bao's Phan Duong played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mai Phong in the 89th minute of play. Phan Duong showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mai Phong in the 94th minute of the match. Lao Cai's Nguyễn Thi played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đoàn Tinh in the 95th minute of play. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
