The audience thought a goal was coming when Phan Minh Phượng got free with Nguyễn Ritchell in the 5th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 6th minute An Giang were awarded a corner. Emiliano Admon went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on An Giang's corner Emiliano Admon fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Nguyễn Ritchell quite easily take care of the ball. Freddie Petersson hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. After a rather tough play, 08ornas FC's Jenkins Jeavons got a free kick in the 10th minute. A collision led to 08ornas FC getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Leo Blom hit a great ball. In the 17th minute of the game Trần Hung made a throw-in which Rami Ciencabrero played forward. Rami Ciencabrero received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Nguyễn Ritchell came out and tried to block the shot, but Rami Ciencabrero slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. When the match had gone on for 21 minutes, Emiliano Admon took a quick shot and it went in 2-0 without a chance for Nguyễn Ritchell to make any attempt to save it. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rami Ciencabrero got free with Nguyễn Ritchell in the 27th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Trần Hung made in the 29th minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Vũ Bay. In the 30th minute, Lê Loc hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Phan Minh Phượng scored 3-0 in the 34th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nguyễn Ritchell, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 39 minutes of play, 08ornas FC's Benyamin Gómez made it 3-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Đoàn Thuy was left in no man's land by his defense there! Lê Loc hit a great freekick 42 minutes into the match. 47 minutes into the match, 08ornas FC's goal looked a bit too open when Emiliano Admon came free, but Nguyễn Ritchell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-1.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Emiliano Admon to make the kick off. Nguyễn Hung's late challenge caught a 08ornas FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Hung helped the player get up and apologised. In the 56th minute of the match 08ornas FC got a corner. An Giang's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Benyamin Gómez ran over to the corner to take the kick. 58 minutes into the match, Emiliano Admon had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nguyễn Ritchell. 08ornas FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Emiliano Admon was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-1. If Phan Hung had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 62nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Đoàn Thuy showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jörn Hammarström in the 66th minute of the match. In the 67th match minute, An Giang was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rami Ciencabrero to maneuver through the defense. In the 69th minute Rami Ciencabrero shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Nguyễn Ritchell saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Đoàn Thuy made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Jörn Hammarström sent off a good shot on target. Nguyễn Ritchell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emiliano Admon, who was totally free with the ball in the 73rd minute. After a rather tough play, 08ornas FC's Jenkins Jeavons got a free kick in the 86th minute. An Giang's Vũ Bay quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Lê Loc, made in the 87th minute of the game. Nguyễn Ritchell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Emiliano Admon, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Iskren Shushulov kicked well hit freekick during the 92nd minute of the match. Nguyễn Ritchell made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emiliano Admon in the 95th minute of play. For all the effort they put into the match, the 08ornas FC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for An Giang.
