The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 13th minute, Phạm Minh hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd match minute, FC Dalin was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Kyriakos Paltoudakis to maneuver through the defense. FC Dalin's Hoàng Tran played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zumar Villabona in the 24th minute of play. Thorvald Mansel in the 28thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Osman Şenel, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. FC Dalin's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Kyriakos Paltoudakis in the 38th minute. The corner led FC Dalin's Kyriakos Paltoudakis to fire away a dangerous shot which Osman Şenel despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Nguyễn Chuong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Osman Şenel having to interfere. In the 46th minute, Arthur Clarke ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hoàng Tran was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. After the first half Hai Duong were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

FC Dalin's Thorvald Mansel got a good chance for a goal in the 54th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Nghiêm Tong received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 60th minute. Osman Şenel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 70th match minute, Hai Duong was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Phạm Minh to maneuver through the defense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ngô Tran during the 71st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Hai Duong getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Ngô Tran hit a great ball. 74 minutes into the match, FC Dalin's goal looked a bit too open when Arthur Clarke came free, but Hoàng Tran reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Phạm Minh's late challenge caught a FC Dalin's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Phạm Minh helped the player get up and apologised. Hai Duong:s Osman Şenel showed great skill when he stopped Kyriakos Paltoudakis:s penalty. After 81 minutes Hai Duong's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Kyriakos Paltoudakis who took care of the corner kick. In the 85th minute Arthur Clarke shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hoàng Tran saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Hai Duong's Osman Şenel played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Trần Ritchell in the 90th minute of play. Hoàng Tran showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arthur Clarke, who was totally free with the ball in the 92nd minute. In the 94th minute Thorvald Mansel shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Osman Şenel saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the referee blew the final whistle jeers and boos were heard from the home team's supporters. They were angered to see FC Dalin lose a match they had controlled from the kick-off.
