Set Doig made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. The audience was convinced that Zumar Villabona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Set Doig was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. Osman Şenel was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jules Frankfurter during the 32nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 33rd match minute, Minh City FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jules Frankfurter to maneuver through the defense. Zumar Villabona's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Set Doig firmly grabbed it by the left post. After taking down the ball on Hai Duong's corner Đặng Hanh fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Set Doig quite easily take care of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Zumar Villabona got free with Set Doig in the 43rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. If Zumar Villabona had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 45th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Arthur Clarke blasted a shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Set Doig having to make a save. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-1 at half-time.
Hai Duong's Lê Teo pulled a muscle in his back after 52 minutes and couldn't finish the game. 52 minutes into the game, Phan Hanh was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Minh City FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Hai Duong the free kick. After a rather tough play, Minh City FC's Phan Hanh got a free kick in the 53rd minute. Set Doig showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zumar Villabona, who was totally free with the ball in the 57th minute. Set Doig stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Zumar Villabona's shot from short distance in the 59th minute. Zumar Villabona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 61st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Set Doig having to interfere. Osman Şenel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jules Frankfurter, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Minh City FC's Set Doig played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zumar Villabona in the 64th minute of play. Zumar Villabona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Set Doig having to interfere. In the 67thth minute of the game Zumar Villabona who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Minh City FC's Set Doig was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The audience was convinced that Zumar Villabona's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Set Doig was relentless in the 70th minute of the game. Minh City FC's Đoàn Thuyet was substituted for Phan Hanh. After 73 minutes Minh City FC's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Đặng Hanh who took care of the corner kick. The corner led Hai Duong's Đặng Hanh to fire away a dangerous shot which Set Doig despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Set Doig came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Hai Duong's Zumar Villabona. But to his dismay, Zumar Villabona quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. 82 minutes into the game, Ngô Tran was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hai Duong's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Minh City FC the free kick. The supporters of Minh City FC booed when Hai Duong was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ngô Tran didn't get a good kick on the ball. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Zumar Villabona in the 97th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Set Doig prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Hai Duong had won after a very even match.
