In the 6thth minute of the game Huỳnh Hoang who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Poseidon's Mattias Thorsberg was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 9th minute, Evaristo Gaitano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Đỗ Cadeo scored 0-1 in the 13th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Mattias Thorsberg, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After 16 minutes of play, Da Nang Boys's Đỗ Cadeo made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Mattias Thorsberg was left in no man's land by his defense there! Trịnh Duc showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Phan Minh-ha in the 24th minute of the match. Evaristo Gaitano kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. 31 minutes into the match, Poseidon's goal looked a bit too open when Nguyễn Thuy came free, but Mattias Thorsberg reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Da Nang Boys getting a freekick after 33 minutes play. Phạm Loc hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nguyễn Thuy in the 36th managed to get into a good position. After a rather tough play, Da Nang Boys's Phạm Van Tai Em got a free kick in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd of the match, Boleslaw Moizuk tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Trịnh Duc got in the way and made a wonderful save. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Vágner Dias stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Poseidon's Mattias Thorsberg played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Đỗ Cadeo in the 52nd minute of play. After some careless play in the Poseidon defense, Đỗ Cadeo kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Mattias Thorsberg. The Poseidon fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Mattias Thorsberg should have stopped the shot. Đỗ Cadeo had several of the Poseidon's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 61 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 0-4 score and a disappointed Mattias Thorsberg as he didn't even see the shot coming. Nguyễn Thuy's late challenge caught a Poseidon's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Nguyễn Thuy helped the player get up and apologised. Nguyễn Thuy kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. Đỗ Cadeo could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 68th minute of the match, but Mattias Thorsberg made a huge save. The audience thought a goal was coming when Đỗ Cadeo got free with Mattias Thorsberg in the 91st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Nguyễn Thuy came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Da Nang Boys fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nguyễn Thuy couldn't finish the play. The Poseidon fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Da Nang Boys were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
