Spectators: 6800 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1800, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Amir Chuan kicked off to start the match. Lee Au kicked well hit freekick during the 5th minute of the match. Alexander Mathews showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Victor Paine in the 6th minute of the match. Alexander Mathews made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Victor Paine in the 9th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Chichester's Gerard Namasivayam got a free kick in the 10th minute. Victor Paine took the ball and in the 11 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Alexander Mathews. Alexander Mathews dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. When Newmarket's Zafran Yip in the 15th minute got a chance for a shot 15th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Chichester's goalie prevented a goal. Amir Chuan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 21st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Zafran Yip fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Mathews having to interfere. Victor Paine recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 29th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 30th minute Zafran Yip shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alexander Mathews saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Alexander Mathews showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Victor Paine, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. The audience was convinced that Zafran Yip's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Alexander Mathews was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. Newmarket's Sajeev Leng got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Alexander Mathews showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zafran Yip in the 43rd minute of the match. Victor Paine fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alexander Mathews having to interfere. Gerard Namasivayam kicked well hit freekick during the 46th minute of the match. After the first half Newmarket were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Zafran Yip to make the kick off. When Victor Paine came up free with the goalie in the 51st minute, the Newmarket fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Victor Paine couldn't finish the play. Zafran Yip received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Alexander Mathews tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 58th match minute, Chichester was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Afiq Pillai to maneuver through the defense. In the 61st minute, Sajeev Leng hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Newmarket's Lamar Seng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Alex Abdul in the 62nd minute of play. Alexander Mathews made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zafran Yip in the 68th minute of play. Alex Abdul kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zafran Yip in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Alexander Mathews saved Chichester from getting behind. If Victor Paine had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 82nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Newmarket's Victor Paine got a good chance for a goal in the 88th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. When Alex Abdul was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 89 minutes had been played. After a rather tough play, Chichester's Alex Abdul got a free kick in the 90th minute. Zafran Yip was extremely unlucky when he, in the 91st minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Newmarket played a much better game than Chichester and deserved their victory. The Chichester players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
