An unexpectedly hard shot by Hamir Ee in the 12th minute of play forced Grasmere AFC's goalkeeper Dale Cheng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 14 minutes into the match, Grasmere AFC's goal looked a bit too open when Hamir Ee came free, but Dale Cheng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Hamir Ee's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dale Cheng read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Horbury's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Anil Sim in the 19th minute. Ong Tan thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Dale Cheng, a very annoying self made goal in the 19th minute which led to 0-2. Dale Cheng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Amirul Leng, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Azam Hian hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. A collision led to Grasmere AFC getting a freekick after 36 minutes play. Ong Tan hit a great ball. Tan Sim received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Mujahid Yeo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Amirul Leng made a kick off. Amirul Leng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Cheng having to interfere. After 55 minutes, Azam Hian mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Grasmere AFC and the Horbury players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 56th minute, Azam Hian hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Amirul Leng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Dale Cheng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 67th minute, Grasmere AFC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Hamir Ee fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Amirul Leng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Dale Cheng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 74 minutes, Gara Paine managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grasmere AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gara Paine was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Sajeev Chian took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 76th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Mujahid Yeo. Horbury's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. The corner led Horbury's Anil Sim to fire away a dangerous shot which Dale Cheng despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Hamir Ee could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 84th minute of the match, but Dale Cheng made a huge save. Tan Sim fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mujahid Yeo having to interfere. After having played for 88 minutes, Gara Paine managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Grasmere AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gara Paine was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 90 minutes into the match, Grasmere AFC's goalkeeper Dale Cheng had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hamir Ee. After having played for 92 minutes, Hamir Ee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Horbury's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hamir Ee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Amirul Leng fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dale Cheng having to interfere. Amirul Leng sent away a hard shot on goal in the 96th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The Grasmere AFC supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching Horbury's performance. The match ended with a win for Horbury.
