Seating: 1806, VIP seats: 0) Prime Chan made the kick off and thus started the match. If Prime Chan had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 5th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Jithu Seng took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Prime Chan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Ryan Chandran hit a great freekick 5 minutes into the match. Prime Chan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 8th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Exmouth AFC's Jithu Seng proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 11th minute of the match, managed to save Exmouth AFC from getting a goal against them. In the 12th match minute, Exmouth AFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bakar Soon to maneuver through the defense. Whaplode's Khai Ramachandran got a good chance for a goal in the 13th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 14th minute, Nicholas Pieng hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Jithu Seng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prime Chan in the 16th minute of the match. After 17 played minutes, Whaplode's Mark Butcher shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Jithu Seng came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Whaplode reached it. After 18 played minutes Exmouth AFC got a freekick which was hit by Ryan Chandran. Prime Chan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Jithu Seng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Darryl Swee took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sean Devan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sean Devan in the 30th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Darryl Swee saved Whaplode from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Whaplode's zone, Sean Devan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Darryl Swee came out of the goal and Sean Devan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Sean Devan in the 35th minute of play forced Whaplode's goalkeeper Darryl Swee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Jithu Seng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Prime Chan, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. In the 43rd minute, Sean Devan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Exmouth AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
Sean Devan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Darryl Swee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Whaplode's Prime Chan got a free kick in the 58th minute. Jithu Seng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Prime Chan in the 61st minute of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Sean Devan got free with Darryl Swee in the 66th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 68th minute Prime Chan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jithu Seng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ryan Chandran was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 68 minutes had been played. Ryan Chandran kicked well hit freekick during the 69th minute of the match. The throw-in from Shah Ning in the 76th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by Whaplode's Khai Ramachandran. After 82 played minutes Whaplode got a freekick which was hit by Mark Butcher. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mark Butcher during the 85th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Mark Butcher kicked well hit freekick during the 85th minute of the match. Jithu Seng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Prime Chan in the 89th minute of the match. After 94 played minutes Whaplode got a freekick which was hit by Jaime Castro.
