Mark Butcher fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 6th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aziz Lim having to interfere. Aziz Lim didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 9th minute, which inside left pole to 1-0. Famih Nagasaki kicked well hit freekick during the 14th minute of the match. Mark Butcher hit a great freekick 16 minutes into the match. Prime Chan fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aziz Lim having to interfere. Darren Ning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Darryl Swee having to interfere. When Jaime Castro fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Whaplode's protests and gave Jaime Castro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Crystal Palace United booed when Whaplode was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Castro didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Crystal Palace United getting a freekick after 34 minutes play. Bryan Boon hit a great ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Prime Chan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Whaplode's supporters rose to their feet, but Prime Chan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Aziz Lim breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Aziz Lim made an important save on a dangerous shot by Prime Chan in the 46th minute. The crowd rose to their feet as Prime Chan kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Aziz Lim. That made the score 2-0 in the 48 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Prime Chan was the one to do the kick off. When Famih Nagasaki fell near the penalty area in the 54th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. Khai Ramachandran sent away a hard shot on goal in the 66th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Sarb Ching hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. After 73 played minutes Crystal Palace United got a freekick which was hit by Famih Nagasaki. Whaplode's Khai Ramachandran couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 74th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Crystal Palace United. After a rather tough play, Whaplode's Ong Shiong got a free kick in the 80th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bryan Boon in the 81st minute of play forced Whaplode's goalkeeper Darryl Swee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Crystal Palace United's Famih Nagasaki was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Darryl Swee in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 85th minute, Ong Shiong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Bryan Boon received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Darryl Swee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ong Shiong charged in rather forcefully in the 92nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Ong Shiong the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 97 played minutes Whaplode got a freekick which was hit by Mark Butcher. Whaplode's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
