Khai Yeo charged in rather forcefully in the 2nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Khai Yeo the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Khai Yeo hit a great freekick 2 minutes into the match. In the 6th minute, Cliff Holbrook got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Gerard Lim's late challenge caught a Mitamlanes FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Gerard Lim helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Rothwell United getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Gerard Lim hit a great ball. Faiz Phua recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Hidayat Tian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afriz Mathews in the 14th minute of the match. Jason Blakeley fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zak Swee having to interfere. A hard shot 17 in the game by Dennis Sheene from a close distance when the talented Zak Swee managed to make a qualified save. Rothwell United's players were relieved. An unexpected shot in the 18th minute by Jason Blakeley got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. After 26 minutes, Dennis Sheene made it 1-0 with a short kick to the right side. Rothwell United's Zak Swee tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Hidayat Tian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Hamir Butcher, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Afriz Mathews made a kick off. Hidayat Tian took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afriz Mathews, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. A collision led to Mitamlanes FC getting a freekick after 61 minutes play. Louis Hallam hit a great ball. Alam Siong took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 62nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hidayat Tian. Mitamlanes FC's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Afriz Mathews hit a great freekick 64 minutes into the match. 67 minutes into the game, Hamir Butcher cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Hidayat Tian was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zak Swee stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dennis Sheene's shot from short distance in the 72nd minute. In the 74th minute, Dennis Sheene got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 76 in the game by Faiz Phua from a close distance when the talented Hidayat Tian managed to make a qualified save. Mitamlanes FC's players were relieved. Hidayat Tian didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Faiz Phua went, in the 78th minute, to the upper right corner, 3-2 was the resulting score. Hidayat Tian made an important save on a dangerous shot by Faiz Phua in the 85th minute. Albert Leng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 86th minute. Hidayat Tian tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Hidayat Tian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afriz Mathews in the 88th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dennis Sheene in the 90th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Zak Swee prevented the ball from getting in the gole. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dennis Sheene in the 90th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zak Swee saved Rothwell United from getting behind. When the match had gone on for 92 minutes, Dennis Sheene put it in 4-2 from a short distance just to the right of Zak Swee.
