If Afiq Hoe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 14 minutes, Gerard Ee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sengkang Punggol F.C's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerard Ee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gage Mathews charged in rather forcefully in the 15th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gage Mathews the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Sengkang Punggol F.C's Gage Mathews got a free kick in the 16th minute. If Gerard Ning had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 17th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Afiq Hoe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Gerard Ee fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alif Gopala Pillai having to interfere. Gerard Ee succeeded in the game's 32nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 0-2. Gerard Ning blasted a shot towards the goal in the 36th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alexander Ching having to make a save. Gerard Ee's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Alif Gopala Pillai read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 38th minute of play. In the 42nd minute Gerard Ee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alif Gopala Pillai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 45 played minutes Kineton FC got a freekick which was hit by Gerard Ning. After some fancy dribbling in the 46th minute, Afiq Hoe managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sengkang Punggol F.C's supporters rose to their feet, but Afiq Hoe was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alif Gopala Pillai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Gerard Ee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After the first half Sengkang Punggol F.C were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gerard Ning to make the kick off. Alif Gopala Pillai showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Afiq Hoe in the 64th minute of the match. In the 65th minute Gerard Ee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alif Gopala Pillai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Afiq Hoe scored 0-3 in the 67th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Alif Gopala Pillai, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Jonathan Yang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 84 minutes into the match, Sengkang Punggol F.C's goal looked a bit too open when Gerard Ning came free, but Alexander Ching reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 92 minutes into the match, Prime Siong had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Alexander Ching. Sengkang Punggol F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Prime Siong was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3. Alif Gopala Pillai made an important save on a dangerous shot by Afiq Hoe in the 96th minute. Afiq Hoe blasted a shot towards the goal in the 98th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Alif Gopala Pillai having to make a save. Alif Gopala Pillai stood somewhat misplaced when Gerard Ee came free in front of goal and shot 1-4 to the left of him in the 99 minute. Sengkang Punggol F.C's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
