An unexpectedly hard shot by Faris Paine in the 14th minute of play forced Minas United's goalkeeper Faiz Teo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Mohammad Hong hit a great freekick 15 minutes into the match. In the 16th minute, Jonathan Nair hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Minas United's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rifqi Hui was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Faris Paine blasted a shot towards the goal in the 40th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Faiz Teo having to make a save. After a rather tough play, Liverpool's Albert Lim got a free kick in the 43rd minute. Jonathan Nair kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 46thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Liverpool's keeper Sharizan Dhanabalan was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. 48 minutes into the match, Liverpool's goalkeeper Sharizan Dhanabalan had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonathan Nair.

Jonathan Nair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 52nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. John Soon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 54th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sharizan Dhanabalan having to interfere. Rifqi Hui's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Faiz Teo read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. In the 69th match minute, Liverpool was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ron Yip to maneuver through the defense. In the 70th minute of the match Jithu Boon sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sharizan Dhanabalan skillfully saved the ball. 70 minutes into the game, Khairil Sarangapani was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Liverpool's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Minas United the free kick. Khairil Sarangapani kicked well hit freekick during the 71st minute of the match. Faris Paine blasted a shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Faiz Teo having to make a save. When Khairil Sarangapani was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 83 minutes had been played. Rifqi Hui received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 88th minute. Faiz Teo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 91st minute, Rifqi Hui fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. If Albert Lim had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Liverpool's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
