An unexpected shot in the 19th minute by Wei Xuan Yeo got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Mark Chee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sarb Chian, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. 30 minutes into the match, Heckmondwike's goal looked a bit too open when Sarb Chian came free, but Mark Chee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sarb Chian recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 39th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 41st minute, Amirul Gopala Pillai got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. An unexpectedly hard shot by Amirul Gopala Pillai in the 45th minute of play forced Truro AFC's goalkeeper Jithu Gopala Pillai to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Hidayat Hsin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 48th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Mark Chee didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Truro AFC. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Khairil Gopala Pillai during the 88th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Khairil Gopala Pillai hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Jonathan Kool received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 92nd minute.
