The supporters of Ashby de la Zouch United booed when Luminix Football Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 4 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ashby de la Zouch United's Azli Teo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Shahron Ning in the 14th minute of play. In the 15th minute, Farhan Namasivayam hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Farhan Lee in the 18th minute of play forced Ashby de la Zouch United's goalkeeper Azli Teo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 32nd minute, Shahron Ning left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Luminix Football Club fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. In the 44th minute of the game, Steven Seng landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. Prime Liang charged in rather forcefully in the 44th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Prime Liang the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 46th match minute, Luminix Football Club was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Prime Liang to maneuver through the defense. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Farhan Lee to make the kick off. After having played for 52 minutes, Shahron Ning managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Luminix Football Club's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shahron Ning was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When the match had been going on for 56 minutes, Luminix Football Club's Joel Ramachandran got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Azli Teo. Shah Cheng recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 60th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Ashby de la Zouch United's Fariz Vijiaratnam got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Lamar Chan's late challenge caught a Luminix Football Club's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lamar Chan helped the player get up and apologised. Lamar Chan kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. Joel Ramachandran made in the 74th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Merlin Hian immediately put the ball in play. In the 80th minute Farhan Lee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Azli Teo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 84 minutes into the game, one of Ashby de la Zouch United:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. When the match had been going on for 86 minutes, Luminix Football Club's Joel Ramachandran got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Azli Teo. An unexpectedly hard shot by Farhan Lee in the 95th minute of play forced Ashby de la Zouch United's goalkeeper Azli Teo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Luminix Football Club walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
