Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The mood of the audience was pleasant when Daniel Wenyong made the kick off which started today's match. After 4 minutes of play, Exmouth's Darren Ching made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jithu Sum was left in no man's land by his defense there! After 9 minutes, Darren Ching mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Exmouth and the Ipplepen players grew even worse after the yellow card. Darren Ching kicked well hit freekick during the 9th minute of the match. In the 11th minute, Ipplepen's Wong Abdul seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Wong Abdul the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Ipplepen protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Wong Abdul had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. 13 minutes into the match, Exmouth's Shahron Dyce sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jithu Sum narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Jithu Sum showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Darren Ching in the 19th minute of the match. After a defensive mix-up in Exmouth's zone, Daniel Wenyong stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zack Chew came out of the goal and Daniel Wenyong tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Exmouth's Zack Chew played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Wenyong in the 22nd minute of play. If Daniel Wenyong had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Ipplepen booed when Exmouth was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 29 match minutes in a wonderful position. Darren Ching didn't get a good kick on the ball. After 32 played minutes Exmouth got a freekick which was hit by Darren Ching. An unexpectedly hard shot by Daniel Wenyong in the 37th minute of play forced Exmouth's goalkeeper Zack Chew to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Exmouth's Zack Chew played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Wenyong in the 39th minute of play. Daniel Wenyong might have been able to make a better finish in the 44th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zack Chew. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Daniel Wenyong ran back to his position shaking his head. Zack Chew stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Wenyong's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. Daniel Wenyong fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 48th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zack Chew having to interfere. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Amir Hoe to strike the kick off in the second half. After some careless play in the Exmouth defense, Daniel Wenyong kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Zack Chew. The Exmouth fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Zack Chew should have stopped the shot. Exmouth's Zack Chew played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Muhammad Pillai in the 57th minute of play. In the 70th minute Muhammad Pillai shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zack Chew saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Exmouth booed when Ipplepen was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 71 match minutes in a wonderful position. SK Lee didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ipplepen's Jithu Sum proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 78th minute of the match, managed to save Ipplepen from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Lee Tan got free with Jithu Sum in the 83rd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zack Chew stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Daniel Wenyong's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. In the 94th minute, Dale Ramachandran got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Exmouth's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
