Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 162) Padang's Sarb Braddell started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Noh Nair showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rudy Chien-Kwan, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 5th minute, Samuel Chandran managed to get in a good position for a shot. Noh Nair was left in no man's land by his defense there! Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Samuel Chandran in the 15th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Wong Teo prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Rudy Chien-Kwan fell near the penalty area in the 18th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Swadlincote's protests and gave Rudy Chien-Kwan a yellow card for diving instead. In the 19th minute, Sarb Braddell made a precise shot to the right of Wong Teo. Swadlincote's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Wong Teo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Samuel Chandran in the 22nd minute of the match. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 1-2 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Bryan Chong to strike the kick off in the second half. The crowd rose to their feet as Swadlincote's Afiz Hsi slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Noh Nair. That made the score 1-3 after 52 minutes of play. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Swadlincote walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
