In the 16thth minute of the game Lamar Politiek who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Launceston's Wei Xuan Cho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ong Chong struck a weak shot in the 18th minute. Hafriz Tan didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Launceston. The audience was convinced that Ali Soon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Wei Xuan Cho was relentless in the 21st minute of the game. 25 minutes into the match, Launceston's goal looked a bit too open when Lamar Politiek came free, but Wei Xuan Cho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ong Chong sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 33rd minute Ali Soon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Wei Xuan Cho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wei Xuan Cho took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lamar Politiek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The supporters of Downton City booed when Launceston was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Haziq Nair didn't get a good kick on the ball. Lamar Politiek was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 46th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Lamar Politiek stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute Khairil Wah shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hafriz Tan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Wei Xuan Cho came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Downton City's Lamar Politiek. But to his dismay, Lamar Politiek quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 68th minute, Lamar Politiek ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Wei Xuan Cho was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. Wei Xuan Cho didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Downton City's Lamar Politiek shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 0-3 in the ordered_time% minute. Ali Soon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wei Xuan Cho having to interfere. A collision led to Launceston getting a freekick after 77 minutes play. Amir Chong hit a great ball. After some careless play in the Launceston defense, Lamar Politiek kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Wei Xuan Cho. The Launceston fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Wei Xuan Cho should have stopped the shot. In the 88th minute of the match, Lamar Politiek got a very nice opportunity to score, but Wei Xuan Cho was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. Lamar Politiek sent away a hard shot on goal in the 90th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 92nd minute, Alam Tan hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When Downton City's Ali Soon in the 94th minute got a chance for a shot 94th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Launceston's goalie prevented a goal.
