After a rather tough play, Peterlee's Asiz Ramachandran got a free kick in the 31st minute. After 46 played minutes SouthSingapore got a freekick which was hit by Jerry Ning. An unexpectedly hard shot by Khairil Chien-Kwan in the 47th minute of play forced SouthSingapore's goalkeeper Wong Wah to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Jerry Ning stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Hafriz Sarangapani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Wong Wah tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 74th minute Danial Koh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Azam Tian saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Azam Tian showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jerry Ning in the 80th minute of the match. Asiz Ramachandran came free with the goalkeeper in the 85th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Wong Wah could save by the left post. Azli Butcher hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Danial Koh in the 92nd minute of play forced Peterlee's goalkeeper Azam Tian to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Azam Tian came out of the goal in the 93rd minute to try and stop a shot by SouthSingapore's Faiz Dyce. But to his dismay, Faiz Dyce quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-0.
