In the 9th match minute, Bradford City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Samuel Tan to maneuver through the defense. Azam Abdul fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Shafiq Lim having to interfere. Azam Abdul struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Shafiq Lim didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LionsXII. Shafiq Lim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Azam Abdul, who was totally free with the ball in the 26th minute. Azam Abdul sent away a hard shot on goal in the 27th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. When Rifki Liang fell near the penalty area in the 29th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bradford City's protests and gave Rifki Liang a yellow card for diving instead. In the 30th match minute, Bradford City was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rifki Liang to maneuver through the defense. Shafiq Lim showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Muhammad Tuan, who was totally free with the ball in the 38th minute. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ron Tee in the 40th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Shafiq Lim saved Bradford City from getting behind. After having played for 45 minutes, Shafiq Abisheganaden managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bradford City's supporters crossed their fingers, but Shafiq Abisheganaden was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rifki Seng during the 46th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. When the match had been going on for 48 minutes, Bradford City's Hidayat Cheng got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Asiz Yi-Sheng.

The wind increased when Amir Low made the kick off in the second half. Shafiq Lim made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ron Tee in the 54th minute of play. After some careless play in the Bradford City defense, Azam Abdul kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Shafiq Lim. The Bradford City fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Shafiq Lim should have stopped the shot. In the 68th match minute, LionsXII was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ron Tee to maneuver through the defense. Shafiq Lim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Azam Abdul in the 71st minute of the match. If Shafiq Abisheganaden had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 73rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 75 played minutes LionsXII got a freekick which was hit by Faris Nagasaki. Bradford City were awarded a corner in the 78th minute after LionsXII's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Hidayat Cheng took the corner. After some fancy dribbling in the 81st minute, Amir Low managed to get in a good position for a shot. Bradford City's supporters rose to their feet, but Amir Low was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Asiz Yi-Sheng breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Asiz Yi-Sheng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Shafiq Abisheganaden in the 85th minute of play. In the 89th minute of the match LionsXII got a corner. Bradford City's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Faris Nagasaki ran over to the corner to take the kick. LionsXII's Faris Nagasaki was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Shafiq Lim in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. In the 91st minute, Amir Low made a precise shot to the right of Asiz Yi-Sheng. LionsXII's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-1. Ron Tee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 96th minute. Shafiq Lim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Ron Tee had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 101st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bradford City's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
