Wong Wah didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Azam Tan went, in the 3rd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-1 was the resulting score. Danial Koh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 6th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 8th minute, Jerry Ning fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Albert Phua, passed just outside the right post. 9 minutes into the match, Jerry Ning dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Albert Phua, 1-1. In the 16th minute, Jonathan Swee hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 17th minute, Jerry Ning reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Albert Phua. The goal made the score 2-1. The supporters of SouthSingapore booed when MirellasBar N.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 21 match minutes in a wonderful position. Joel Ching didn't get a good kick on the ball. Jerry Ning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 25th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Phua having to interfere. After a rather tough play, SouthSingapore's Clive Wenyong got a free kick in the 29th minute. In the 30th minute, Azam Tan left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The MirellasBar N.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Albert Phua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerry Ning, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Iskandar Rajah's late challenge caught a SouthSingapore's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Iskandar Rajah helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, MirellasBar N.C.'s Iskandar Rajah got a free kick in the 36th minute. 38 minutes into the match, MirellasBar N.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jerry Ning came free, but Albert Phua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Haziq Wah fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 39th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Phua having to interfere. Albert Phua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerry Ning, who was totally free with the ball in the 46th minute. Faiz Dyce received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 47th minute. Albert Phua tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.
The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Faiz Ching was the one to do the kick off. Albert Phua showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerry Ning, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Danial Koh sent away a hard shot on goal in the 54th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Danial Koh in the 54th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Albert Phua prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The referee gave SouthSingapore a penalty, 57 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Faiz Dyce, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of MirellasBar N.C.'s Albert Phua. 3-2. In the 60th minute, Famih Shiong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A hard shot 62 in the game by Azam Tan from a close distance when the talented Wong Wah managed to make a qualified save. SouthSingapore's players were relieved. Albert Phua took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerry Ning, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Haziq Wah had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 65th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 67th minute, Jerry Ning got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. SouthSingapore's Haziq Wah got a good chance for a goal in the 68th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 74 minutes into the match, MirellasBar N.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Jerry Ning came free, but Albert Phua reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerry Ning in the 76th minute of play forced MirellasBar N.C.'s goalkeeper Albert Phua to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 78 minutes into the match, Danial Koh had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Albert Phua. MirellasBar N.C.'s manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Danial Koh was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 4-2. Jerry Ning fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Albert Phua having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Danial Koh managed to get in a good position for a shot. SouthSingapore's supporters rose to their feet, but Danial Koh was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albert Phua breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 85 played minutes MirellasBar N.C. got a freekick which was hit by Iskandar Rajah. In the 90th minute, Azam Tan made a precise shot to the right of Wong Wah. SouthSingapore's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-3. After some fancy dribbling in the 95th minute, Jerry Ning managed to get in a good position for a shot. SouthSingapore's supporters rose to their feet, but Jerry Ning was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Albert Phua breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Jerry Ning came up free with the goalie in the 97th minute, the SouthSingapore fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jerry Ning couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in MirellasBar N.C.'s zone, Danial Koh stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Albert Phua came out of the goal and Danial Koh tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. SouthSingapore walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
