The audience thought a goal was coming when Danish Lam got free with Ronn Lim in the 29th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Iskandar Butcher kicked well hit freekick during the 30th minute of the match. In the 39th minute Felix Soon shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ali Hong saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Danish Lam had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Felix Soon made a kick off. An unexpectedly hard shot by Afiq Hsin in the 76th minute of play forced Rawtenstall FC's goalkeeper Ronn Lim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
