An unexpectedly hard shot by Azam Abdul in the 7th minute of play forced Redcar's goalkeeper Stevie Land to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Sid Sparkes's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 9thth minute, Asiz Yi-Sheng skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. The supporters of Redcar booed when LionsXII was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Daniz Tan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 13 minutes, Azam Abdul managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. LionsXII's supporters crossed their fingers, but Azam Abdul was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ron Tee struck a weak shot in the 15th minute. Stevie Land didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for LionsXII. After a rather tough play, LionsXII's Muhammad Tuan got a free kick in the 16th minute. In the 17th match minute, LionsXII was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Daniz Tan to maneuver through the defense. Sid Sparkes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 19th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 20 minutes into the game, Graham Busby recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Asiz Yi-Sheng. Graham Busby showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. Sid Sparkes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 27th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When Rodd Glasby fell near the penalty area in the 28th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Redcar's protests and gave Rodd Glasby a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th minute, Rodd Glasby hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The wind increased when Graham Busby made the kick off in the second half. After having played for 52 minutes, Azam Abdul managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Graham Busby sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Damion Nethercoat recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 91st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. LionsXII's Asiz Yi-Sheng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rodd Glasby in the 93rd minute of play. Rodd Glasby hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Redcar fans cheered their team off the field, for while LionsXII had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
