Spectators: 7410 (Terracing: 6000, Seating: 1360, VIP seats: 50) The sun was shining, the grass was green and the audience cheered when Danish Nair got the match started through his kick off. Zak Namasivayam hit a great freekick 4 minutes into the match. After 4 played minutes, SouthSingapore's Faiz Dyce shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Alex Shyan came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SouthSingapore reached it. Faiz Dyce recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 10th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After having played for 20 minutes, Faiz Dyce managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. SouthSingapore's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faiz Dyce was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Danial Koh had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 22nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. A collision led to Combe Martian United getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Faizal Choy hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jerry Ning in the 31st minute of play forced Combe Martian United's goalkeeper Alex Shyan to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Alex Shyan showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jerry Ning, who was totally free with the ball in the 48th minute. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jerry Ning was the one to do the kick off. After 51 played minutes Combe Martian United got a freekick which was hit by Faizal Choy. In the 53rd minute, Danial Koh ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Alex Shyan was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. After 58 minutes Combe Martian United's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Faiz Dyce who took care of the corner kick. Khai Cheng was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 66th minute Danial Koh shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alex Shyan saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Chew fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Wong Wah having to interfere. After having played for 76 minutes, Jonathan Chew managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Combe Martian United's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jonathan Chew was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Faiz Dyce's late challenge caught a Combe Martian United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Faiz Dyce helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to SouthSingapore getting a freekick after 78 minutes play. Faiz Dyce hit a great ball. 84 minutes into the match, SouthSingapore's goalkeeper Wong Wah had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonathan Chew. Jerry Ning charged in rather forcefully in the 87th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Jerry Ning the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 87th match minute, SouthSingapore was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jerry Ning to maneuver through the defense. Azli Butcher's late challenge caught a Combe Martian United's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Azli Butcher helped the player get up and apologised. When the referee blew the final whistle, SouthSingapore could leave the field as winners, despite Combe Martian United having more of the ball for most of the match.
