Spectators: 6830 (Terracing: 5000, Seating: 1830, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Ron Tee kicked off to start the match. In the 5thth minute of the game Felix Soon who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but LionsXII's Asiz Yi-Sheng was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Azam Abdul could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 6th minute of the match, but Ronn Lim made a huge save. When Iskandar Chan fell near the penalty area in the 7th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rawtenstall FC's protests and gave Iskandar Chan a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Rawtenstall FC getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Iskandar Chan hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ron Tee in the 9th minute of play forced Rawtenstall FC's goalkeeper Ronn Lim to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Azam Abdul came up free with the goalie in the 10th minute, the LionsXII fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Azam Abdul couldn't finish the play. In the 15th minute, LionsXII's Ron Tee dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-0. After having played for 20 minutes, Danial Lee managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Rawtenstall FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Danial Lee was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Arif Teo kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24th minute, Adam Seng got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Rawtenstall FC's Ronn Lim proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 30th minute of the match, managed to save Rawtenstall FC from getting a goal against them. The audience was convinced that Felix Soon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Asiz Yi-Sheng was relentless in the 36th minute of the game. Ronn Lim showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ron Tee in the 37th minute of the match. In the 41st minute Ron Tee shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronn Lim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Felix Soon was the one to do the kick off. Rawtenstall FC's Ronn Lim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Azam Abdul in the 54th minute of play. Ronn Lim took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Azam Abdul, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 57th minute, Ron Tee left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The LionsXII fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-0. Asiz Yi-Sheng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Soon in the 64th minute of play. Anil Nair sent away a hard shot on goal in the 65th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 70th minute Azam Abdul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronn Lim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Danial Lee charged in rather forcefully in the 73rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Danial Lee the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Danial Lee hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Felix Soon in the 78th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Asiz Yi-Sheng saved LionsXII from getting behind. In the 84th match minute, LionsXII was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Muhammad Tuan to maneuver through the defense. Ron Tee received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 89th minute. Ronn Lim tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Felix Soon in the 96th minute of play forced LionsXII's goalkeeper Asiz Yi-Sheng to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
