Otley City's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jerry Ning was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. Wong Wah took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Afiq Hsin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Wong Wah made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Afiq Hsin in the 16th minute of play. In the 27th minute, Daniz Abisheganaden fired away a shot on goal. He put a little to much spin on the ball and sent it just wide of the right post. A collision led to Otley City getting a freekick after 29 minutes play. Zak Chandran hit a great ball. After 29 played minutes, SouthSingapore's Faiz Dyce shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ali Hong came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in SouthSingapore reached it. Danish Lams short, quick shot in the 32ndth minute got Wong Wah to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Zak Chandran hit a great freekick 36 minutes into the match. Famih Shiong took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 39th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Ali Hong. Otley City's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Otley City's Afiq Hsin got a good chance for a goal in the 43rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Ali Hong took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jerry Ning, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 46 minutes of play, SouthSingapore's Faiz Dyce made it 0-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ali Hong was left in no man's land by his defense there!

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Jerry Ning was the one to do the kick off. When SouthSingapore's Jerry Ning in the 61st minute got a chance for a shot 61st didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. SouthSingapore's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jerry Ning was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. If Jerry Ning had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 78th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 81 played minutes SouthSingapore got a freekick which was hit by Haziq Wah. Daniz Abisheganaden's late challenge caught a SouthSingapore's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniz Abisheganaden helped the player get up and apologised. Daniz Abisheganaden kicked well hit freekick during the 84th minute of the match.
