When Aziz Cheng fell near the penalty area in the 51st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Peterlee's protests and gave Aziz Cheng a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Peterlee's zone, Faris Nagasaki stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Azam Tian came out of the goal and Faris Nagasaki tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The supporters of Peterlee booed when LionsXII was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Faris Nagasaki didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 56th minute Khairil Chien-Kwan shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Asiz Yi-Sheng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 59 minutes into the match, LionsXII's goal looked a bit too open when Hafriz Sarangapani came free, but Asiz Yi-Sheng reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 64 minutes into the game, Asiz Ramachandran cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1.
