Shelfield United's Ong Pillai proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Shelfield United from getting a goal against them. In the 16th minute, Khai Yip hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ryan Ee sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Shelfield United's defense didn't have a chance, in the 26th minute, when Dale Mathews scored to the left of an out of position Ong Pillai, making the score, 2-0. In the 30th minute Muhammad Liang shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Shahron Lim saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After having played for 32 minutes, Hafriz Soon managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leconfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hafriz Soon was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dale Mathews had several of the Shelfield United's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 36 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 3-0 score and a disappointed Ong Pillai as he didn't even see the shot coming. If Hafriz Soon had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Hafriz Soon fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ong Pillai having to interfere. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dale Mathews was the one to do the kick off. Ong Pillai stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Hafriz Soon's shot from short distance in the 57th minute. In the 60th minute, Dale Mathews got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Hafriz Soon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 72 minutes of play, Leconfield's Dale Mathews made it 4-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Ong Pillai was left in no man's land by his defense there! After having played for 76 minutes, Dale Mathews managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Leconfield's supporters crossed their fingers, but Dale Mathews was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Dale Mathews succeeded in the game's 78th minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 5-0. The audience was convinced that Hafriz Soon's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Ong Pillai was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Hafriz Soon managed to get in a good position for a shot. Leconfield's supporters rose to their feet, but Hafriz Soon was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Ong Pillai breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Leconfield's Dale Mathews got a good chance for a goal in the 89th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Leconfield's zone, Ryan Ee stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Shahron Lim came out of the goal and Ryan Ee tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Muhammad Liang sent away a hard shot on goal in the 94th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Leconfield had played much better football throughout.
