Leconfield's Shahron Lim played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Laurence Brewer in the 21st minute of play. When Dale Mathews came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the Leconfield fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Dale Mathews couldn't finish the play. Hafriz Soon blasted a shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Robin Garforth having to make a save. Rufus Sharp sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Robin Garforth made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dale Mathews in the 73rd minute of play. After having played for 83 minutes, Laurence Brewer managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Blyth's supporters crossed their fingers, but Laurence Brewer was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Blyth's Robin Garforth proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 89th minute of the match, managed to save Blyth from getting a goal against them. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Blyth's goalkeeper Robin Garforth, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hafriz Soon sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Leconfield played a much better game than Blyth and deserved their victory. The Blyth players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
