But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rufus Sharp couldn't finish the play. Ronn Politiek fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Robin Garforth having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alan Hoe in the 22nd minute of play forced Blyth's goalkeeper Robin Garforth to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Shahiran Lee made a fantastic save in the 24th minute, when Rufus Sharp sent off a good shot on target. When Joshua Hartshorn came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Blyth fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Joshua Hartshorn couldn't finish the play. In the 32nd of the match, Laurence Brewer tried to place the ball in the upper right corner, but Shahiran Lee got in the way and made a wonderful save. Joshua Hartshorn charged in rather forcefully in the 38th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Joshua Hartshorn the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 38 played minutes Blyth got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Hartshorn. Robin Garforth took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ronn Politiek, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laurence Brewer in the 42nd minute of play forced Lion's goalkeeper Shahiran Lee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After having played for 44 minutes, Alan Hoe managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lion's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alan Hoe was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 48thth minute of the game Alan Hoe who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Blyth's Robin Garforth was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Laurence Brewer to make the kick off. Blyth's defense didn't have a chance, in the 53rd minute, when Ronn Politiek scored to the left of an out of position Robin Garforth, making the score, 0-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rufus Sharp in the 56th minute of play forced Lion's goalkeeper Shahiran Lee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A hard shot 60 in the game by Alan Hoe from a close distance when the talented Robin Garforth managed to make a qualified save. Blyth's players were relieved. If Rufus Sharp had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Laurence Brewer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 73rd minute. Shahiran Lee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 76 minutes into the game, Rufus Sharp cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-1. Shahiran Lee was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. In the 81st minute the ball was on its way in behind Lion's goalkeeper Shahiran Lee, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Laurence Brewer received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. Shahiran Lee tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 87th minute, Laurence Brewer ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Shahiran Lee was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-1. If Ronn Politiek had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Blyth had won after a very even match.
