Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Jonathan Low started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. After some careless play in the Shrewsbury defense, Sarb Hongyi kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Jithu Boon. The Shrewsbury fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Jithu Boon should have stopped the shot. A collision led to Shrewsbury getting a freekick after 7 minutes play. Sarb Yang hit a great ball. Sarb Hongyi blasted a shot towards the goal in the 10th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Jithu Boon having to make a save. 12 minutes into the game, Anil Shyan lined in a short shot 2-0 behind a frustrated Jithu Boon. After 15 minutes of play, Shrewsbury's Sarb Yang made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Aziz Hsin was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a rather tough play, Royal Gunners FC's Faiz Liang got a free kick in the 17th minute. Sarb Hongyi received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Jithu Boon came out and tried to block the shot, but Sarb Hongyi slotted it home off the left post making it 3-1 in the 19th minute. After 24 minutes of play, Royal Gunners FC's Anil Shyan made it 4-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Jithu Boon was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 27th minute, Jonathan Low left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Shrewsbury fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 4-2. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jonathan Low in the 31st minute of play forced Royal Gunners FC's goalkeeper Aziz Hsin to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Aziz Hsin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hidayat Tian in the 36th minute of the match. Wong Chian hit a great freekick 37 minutes into the match. Anil Shyan recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bryan Au fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aziz Hsin having to interfere. Aziz Hsin made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sarb Yang in the 47th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 4-2 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Anil Shyan made a kick off. Jonathan Low succeeded in the game's 52nd minute to shoot an unreachable shot under the crossbar and scored - 4-3. If Hidayat Tian had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 57th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 60 minutes into the match, Royal Gunners FC's goal looked a bit too open when Jonathan Low came free, but Aziz Hsin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sarb Hongyi hit a great freekick 62 minutes into the match. In the 64th minute, Adam Amin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 68 minutes into the game, Shrewsbury's Hidayat Tian nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Aziz Hsin made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 4-4. The supporters of Royal Gunners FC booed when Shrewsbury was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 72 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sarb Yang didn't get a good kick on the ball. When the match had gone on for 74 minutes, Anil Shyan put it in 5-4 from a short distance just to the right of Jithu Boon. Royal Gunners FC's Sarb Hongyi got a good chance for a goal in the 78th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 84 minutes into the match, Hidayat Tian had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Aziz Hsin. Royal Gunners FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Hidayat Tian was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-6. Jithu Boon made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sarb Hongyi in the 88th minute of play. Royal Gunners FC's attentive Wei Xuan Namasivayam managed to snatch the ball when Khairul Pieng made a throw-in in the 93rd minute of the game. The audience was convinced that Anil Shyan's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Jithu Boon was relentless in the 94th minute of the game. When the final whistle was heard the away supporters stood up and showed their joy. Shrewsbury had managed to secure a win in what was a close match throughout.
