Red Stags F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Rifqi Chian was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Shahiran Politiek breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th minute the ball was on its way in behind Red Stags F.C.'s goalkeeper Lee Hee, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Hamir Peng received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 19th minute. Shahiran Politiek tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The supporters of Red Stags F.C. booed when Bishop Auckland was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mark Pillai didn't get a good kick on the ball. 23 minutes into the match, Red Stags F.C.'s Ryan Dyce broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. Bishop Auckland's Iskandar Shiong got a good chance for a goal in the 25th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Bishop Auckland booed when Red Stags F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Clive Ramachandran didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute, Hamir Peng got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Bishop Auckland's Shahiran Politiek proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 45th minute of the match, managed to save Bishop Auckland from getting a goal against them. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hamir Peng to make the kick off. In the 52nd minute, Lee Swee got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Red Stags F.C.'s Lee Hee proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Red Stags F.C. from getting a goal against them. After 54 minutes, Clive Ramachandran mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Red Stags F.C. and the Bishop Auckland players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 54 played minutes Red Stags F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Clive Ramachandran. Ron Ching could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 55th minute of the match, but Lee Hee made a huge save. Bishop Auckland's Ron Ching got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Shahiran Politiek showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hamir Peng in the 66th minute of the match. Ron Ching sent away a hard shot on goal in the 71st minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Bishop Auckland's Shahiran Politiek played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rifqi Chian in the 75th minute of play. After having played for 88 minutes, Ron Ching managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bishop Auckland's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ron Ching was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rifki Kang's late challenge caught a Bishop Auckland's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Rifki Kang helped the player get up and apologised. In the 89th minute, Rifki Kang hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lee Hee made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ron Ching in the 92nd minute. When Iskandar Shiong came up free with the goalie in the 95th minute, the Bishop Auckland fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Iskandar Shiong couldn't finish the play. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Bishop Auckland players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
