In the 14th minute, Faiz Choy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After having played for 16 minutes, Faiz Choy managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Astley's supporters crossed their fingers, but Faiz Choy was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 25 minutes, Sharizan Dhanabalan mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Astley and the Shenley City players grew even worse after the yellow card. Albert Tioe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sharizan Hoe, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. Joel Seng made an important save on a dangerous shot by Azli Tioe in the 33rd minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Albert Tan during the 34th minute. Disappointed in the 0-2 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Faiz Choy got free with Albert Tioe in the 52nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice moves Faiz Choy could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Albert Tioe however easily saved by the left post. Albert Tioe made an important save on a dangerous shot by Faiz Choy in the 59th minute. 60 minutes into the match, Zak Ning dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Albert Tioe, 0-3. Sharizan Hoe sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 73 played minutes Shenley City got a freekick which was hit by Alexander Lim. Joel Seng showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Jithu Ramachandran in the 75th minute of the match. Shenley City's Albert Tioe proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 77th minute of the match, managed to save Shenley City from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Astley booed when Shenley City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Azli Tioe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Faiz Choy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 79th minute of the match, but Albert Tioe made a huge save. Faiz Choy recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 80th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Faiz Choy could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 82nd minute of the match, but Albert Tioe made a huge save. If Sharizan Hoe had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Shenley City's defense didn't have a chance, in the 87th minute, when Sharizan Hoe scored to the left of an out of position Albert Tioe, making the score, 0-5. When the match clock showed 91 minutes, the score became 1-5 when Azli Tioe sped through Astley's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Joel Seng. Albert Tioe made a fantastic save in the 95th minute, when Faiz Choy sent off a good shot on target. Astley played a much better game than Shenley City and deserved their victory. The Shenley City players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
