After 8 minutes of play, Midsomer Norton City's Darren Ning made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Alan Tee was left in no man's land by his defense there! The audience thought a goal was coming when John Hsin got free with Ali Keng in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 16th minute Darren Ning shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alan Tee saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 21 minutes into the match, Long Lawford's goal looked a bit too open when Samuel Teo came free, but Alan Tee reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 28th minute, Faizal Nair reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Ali Keng. The goal made the score 1-2. Ali Keng made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Faizal Nair in the 31st minute of play. The supporters of Long Lawford booed when Midsomer Norton City was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 38 match minutes in a wonderful position. Samuel Hoe didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ali Keng showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faizal Nair, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. 43 minutes into the game, Midsomer Norton City's Samuel Teo nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alan Tee made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-3. After the first half Midsomer Norton City were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Faizal Nair stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Haziq Liang could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 53rd minute of the match, but Alan Tee made a huge save. Alan Tee took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Darren Ning, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The referee felt a red card was in order, 59 minutes into the game, when Darryl Choy put in a rough tackle. After a rather tough play, Long Lawford's Darryl Choy got a free kick in the 60th minute. Midsomer Norton City's supporters stood up full of expectation in the 61st minute of the game, when Samuel Hoe after an extraordinary solo performance found himself with a golden opportunity in front of Long Lawford's goal. Samuel Hoe was unfortunally a little to anxious and the ball went outside the goal. Alan Tee made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Samuel Teo in the 63rd minute of play. Alan Tee showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Amirul Tan in the 64th minute of the match. Alan Tee showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Samuel Teo, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. Haziq Liang hit a great freekick 68 minutes into the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Darren Ning in the 73rd minute of play forced Long Lawford's goalkeeper Alan Tee to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 75 minutes into the game, Midsomer Norton City's Haziq Liang nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. In the 92nd minute, Merlin Gopala Pillai left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Midsomer Norton City fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-6. The crowd rose to their feet as Midsomer Norton City's Amirul Tan slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Alan Tee. That made the score 1-7 after 96 minutes of play. Midsomer Norton City played a much better game than Long Lawford and deserved their victory. The Long Lawford players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
