Sajeev Chai was out of position in the 27 minute of play, and Faris Tan capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Faris Tan really showed his touch with that goal: 2-0. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Fariz Hongyi managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ashburton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Fariz Hongyi was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Iskandar Soon breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 45th minute, Faris Tan made a precise shot to the right of Sajeev Chai. Ashburton AFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 3-0 at half-time.

In the 52ndth minute of the game Faris Tan who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ashburton AFC's Sajeev Chai was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Ashburton AFC's Sajeev Chai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zack Paine in the 55th minute of play. 56 minutes into the game, Rudy Chandran was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ashburton AFC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Chislehurst City the free kick. After recieving a nice pass, Chislehurst City's Faris Tan tried to score from far away in the 57th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. After a rather tough play, Chislehurst City's Zack Paine got a free kick in the 58th minute. Sajeev Chai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Faris Tan, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. After 71 played minutes Chislehurst City got a freekick which was hit by Faris Tan. When Zack Paine was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 75 minutes had been played. Faris Tan received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 83rd minute. Sajeev Chai tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Faris Tan struck a weak shot in the 88th minute. Sajeev Chai didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chislehurst City. For all the effort they put into the match, the Ashburton AFC players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense.
