Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Wong Abdul made the kick off and thus started the match. When Bakar Phua came up free with the goalie in the 11th minute, the Ashburton AFC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Bakar Phua couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Ashburton AFC booed when Doe Bamar was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sharizan Devan didn't get a good kick on the ball. After having played for 17 minutes, Wong Abdul managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ashburton AFC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Wong Abdul was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Wong Abdul might have been able to make a better finish in the 22nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Bineesh Leng. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Wong Abdul ran back to his position shaking his head. Bakar Phua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 24th minute. Bineesh Leng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Ashburton AFC's Samuel Shyan got a free kick in the 26th minute. Doe Bamar's Bineesh Leng played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Wong Abdul in the 30th minute of play. Daniel Kang took the ball and in the 32 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sajeev Chai. Sajeev Chai dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. Sean Chan struck a weak shot in the 36th minute. Bineesh Leng didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ashburton AFC. Sean Chan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 38th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bakar Phua recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Bakar Phua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bineesh Leng having to interfere. After some fancy dribbling in the 47th minute, Samuel Shyan managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ashburton AFC's supporters rose to their feet, but Samuel Shyan was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bineesh Leng breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Kang to strike the kick off in the second half. Bakar Phua fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 51st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bineesh Leng having to interfere. In the 53rd match minute, Doe Bamar was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sharizan Devan to maneuver through the defense. In the 54th minute Wong Abdul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bineesh Leng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Ashburton AFC's Bakar Phua in the 56th minute got a chance for a shot 56th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gerard Swee got free with Sajeev Chai in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 60th minute Wong Abdul shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bineesh Leng saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Daniel Kang's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Sajeev Chai read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 62nd minute of play. A collision led to Doe Bamar getting a freekick after 64 minutes play. Daniel Kang hit a great ball. Ashburton AFC's Bakar Phua got a good chance for a goal in the 65th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in Doe Bamar's zone, Samuel Shyan stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bineesh Leng came out of the goal and Samuel Shyan tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fariz Hongyi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bineesh Leng having to interfere. If Wong Abdul had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 76th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bakar Phua received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Bineesh Leng tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ashburton AFC were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Doe Bamar to leave the ground with a draw.
